For a group of four mothers in Dallas, diet and exercise just couldn’t do the trick when they wanted to get their bodies back into pre-baby form. Wanting to perk up after their children’s births, the mothers decided to use plastic surgery to get their figures back. This is not a unique phenomenon. In today’s day and age, women are using cosmetic surgery to tighten their bodies after the birth of their children. For many women, this is the self esteem boost they need.

Some of the most common surgeries women use to get back into shape are tummy tucks, lipsuction, and breast lifts or even implants. In fact, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, such surgeries are increasing on a day to day basis. This organization reports that breast augmentation surgeries are the number one surgery requested with liposuction and tummy tucks following in the second and third spots.

The surgery is not always about losing weight: the four aforementioned mothers all worked out following the births and altered their diets. Instead, the issue was more that they had loose skin from gaining and losing weight so quickly as a result of their pregnancies. Many doctors perform tummy tucks not to help a person lose weight but to help them firm up when diets and exercise routines just aren’t enough.

For mothers who are interested in using surgery to get back their pre-baby figures, doctors recommend that they wait until they have finished breast feeding before they embark on this task. In fact, once the mother has stopped breast feeding, it is recommended that they wait another three to eight months. This way, the body can get back to normal before the doctor tries to firm it up even more.

Additionally, if you plan on having more than one child, it is cost-effective to wait until your final child is born. This way, a woman will not have to invest in multiple surgeries and can invest in a single procedure. This saves a family a lot of time, recovery time, and money.

One of the aforementioned mothers, Trisha Anderson, wanted surgery not just because she had extra skin around the stomach and because her breasts had lost their bounce but also because her clothes no longer fit. Rather than buy a whole new wardrobe that would do little for her self-esteem, this woman decided that it was a better investment to invest in some cosmetic surgery.

The changes that happen a woman’s body when she is pregantn are what change her body after birth. This is more than eating too much. Instead, a woman’s body is undergoing some important changes. Breast milk production occurs, hormones shift, and the body has to quickly expand and contract along with the pregnancy. Stretch marks, sagging, and odd weight gain are normal. This is where cosmetic surgery can come in and save the day when adding muscle and eating less does little to no good.

In today’s day and age, cosmetic surgery is safer and easier than ever before. If you are a mother who wants to regain her confidence and shove aside post-partum depression and other effects of pregnancy, such procedures can really help you following your pregnancies.
